We were lucky enough to design the website of champion Ironwoman Courtney Hancock. Courtz, as her beloved fans call her, is a charismatic and driven woman with a passion for healthy living, ironwoman championships and helping other achieve success.
The primary goal of this project was to enhance the website design of courtneyhancock.com.au. We redesigned the website and reviewed how her brand is communicated. By improving the website design and implementing particular online elements, the site now serves to promote the champion ironwoman’s achievements and invites visitors to connect with Courtney. The website also effectively raises Courtney Hancock’s profile to professional networks.
Responsive Website Design
courtneyhancock.com.au was converted to a Responsive Website to improve the accessibility of information for all visitors to the site. With the public using smartphones, tablets and desktop displays to browse for information, Responsive Website Design (RWD) has become increasingly important to create a website that is seamless across multiple user platforms. We also brought it inline with
Google’s recent SEO recommendations for responsive design.
Connect with your audience
An easy way to connect with your audience is by updating your website with regular information. Regular updates to your website educates Google that you are a reputable source on what you claim to be (Improve your SEO). Blogging, frequently asked questions and media news are just some ways to connect with your audience; keeping your readers up to date on your achievements and topical content. As a champion ironwoman, Courtney Hancock receives fan mail with questions about her training, competitions and diet so we created a unique Tips page and a Q&A with Courtney page where her fans can connect and have their questions featured on the website. Loaded through an easy to use Content Manage System (CMS), questions are answered through a blog style setup. It’s a fun and easy way to keep in touch.
Courtney’s instagram is another simple platform to showcase through imagery, a day-in-the-life of an Ironwoman. With direct homepage links to her social sites, readers have the opportunity to catch-up with Courtney.
The site also has a Mailchimp account setup. This was integrated to collect user’s details when signing up to Courtney Hancock’s newsletter. Readers can receive regular advice, guidance and tips on getting the most out of your training, racing and diet. Mailchimp is a fast and simple way to collect data. The program offers templates, tips and statistics to track your audience.
